Treating Acne

Treating acne naturopathically is a common focus for me in my clinics as it is an extremely common health complaint in Australia.  Even mild acne can significantly impact wellbeing, self-esteem, and quality of life. It can be a frustrating issue to address, particularly when there is so much conflicting advice available for people online.

I also work closely with women who are keen to stop taking oral contraception for fertility or other health reasons but are nervous as they know that this may cause a surge in their acne.  With careful planning and certain herbs and nutrients post pill acne can be a less challenging process.

Tools and Strategies for Reducing Acne

I am experienced in investigating and understanding the underlying triggers of acne, as well as providing my clients with tools and strategies for reducing acne symptoms and improving skin health for the long term.  Each client is provided with a unique treatment plan which supports the type and causes of their acne including:

  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Post pill acne
  • PCOS and excess androgens
  • Unbalanced blood sugar levels
  • Poor digestion & elimination
  • Bacterial imbalance on the skin and gut

I incorporate specific testing when needed which is combined with dietary and lifestyle strategies, specific supplements, and liquid herbal medicines.

Here are a few educational blogs thatI have made available on my website to help understand this condition a little better.
