Digestion, Gut & Liver
Why is Gut Health Important?
Gut health has always been a passion for me. Not only due to my own personal experience but due to the role that gut health plays in nearly every condition I treat. This is why I have spent many hours devoted to additional study & mentoring around this subject.
Modern medicine is now uncovering in scientific studies that gut bacteria play a key role in some serious health conditions including Alzheimer’s, depression, endometriosis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and much, much more. The gut microbiome has an important relationship with our immune system meaning that the gut plays a role in any immune related condition.
How Gut Health Affects the Body
We need to absorb important nutrients properly to make hormones, produce day-time energy, make neurotransmitters for mental health and to reduce inflammation. The list is endless as to the power of an optimally working digestive system and the bacteria & organisms (microbiome) that reside in our gut.
We also have bowel movements to eliminate what our body does not want and when constipated or not feeling fully evacuated, many toxins & other compounds can be reabsorbed back into the body which can play a huge role in hormonal imbalance, bloating, chronic fatigue, low mood, anxiety to name a few.
To be blunt, the perfect stool which is easy to pass, as I describe it, is always an important target when developing treatment strategies for my clients – as its power is enormous.
