A holistic approach to healthy cholesterol levels

Tanya supports individuals who seek holistic strategies to help manage their high cholesterol or dyslipidaemia as it is medically termed.  High cholesterol can be caused by numerous factors that include genetics, diet, blood glucose imbalance, untreated thyroid issues, inflammation in the body and even insomnia can play a role.  For this reason, a deep dive as to what is happening for each unique person is important when Tanya is developing her tailored treatment suggestion plan.  Often Tanya is part of a broader health team that will include a GP,  and often clients are prescribed statins.

Tanya supports her clients to incorporate prevention strategies that reduce the risk of high cholesterol and importantly, to protect healthy blood vessels from the impacts of high cholesterol. Tanya also ensures that any herbal medicines and supplements are not contraindicated with medications and will only prescribe safely.

Treating High Cholesterol

Managing high cholesterol is important for optimal cardiovascular health.  Depending on what is impacting such as thyroid, blood glucose, genetics, diet, blood glucose imbalance, insomnia and stress, Tanya will develop a unique strategy for each person.

Tanya will often prescribe herbal medicine and supplements to improve healthy cholesterol (HDL) and support the reduction of LDL cholesterol and triglycerides.  Often well researched antioxidants in diet and supplements may be prescribed to help maintain the health of the blood vessels and balance cholesterol.

A focus on reducing stress and improving sleep are also important due to the role they both play in unbalancing cholesterol and triglycerides.
