Menopause
What is Menopause
I believe that in the cave woman era, the demands on menopausal women were less and whilst strategically involved in imparting knowledge and wisdom, certain life demands were not as consuming as they are today. In this modern world, many menopausal women have demanding careers still or demanding family commitments. Often the kids are still at home, and you may also be supporting your own aging parents who need extra care from you. Whatever, your unique situation, estrogen and progesterone have basically bid you farewell, and it is now a time to seriously consider and put into place important changes if you want to be happy and well in this new life chapter of menopause.
Your ability to manage stress will be impacted, your metabolism & energy levels will be impacted, your sleep may be impacted. Risk factors for diseases due to the loss of these hormones rise at this time and include insulin resistance, weight gain which can be 12 kilos on average, cholesterol and heart health.
A holistic approach to Menopause
As a woman living in her menopausal chapter, I have first-hand knowledge and a detailed understanding of this important time in a woman’s life. In this modern world, many women are still juggling challenging life demands without the powerful support of their female hormones estrogen and progesterone. The lack of these hormones absolutely changes many aspects of how our body functions, including our brains.
For this reason, I am passionate in doing my part to help women understand what is going on for them, supporting them with educational tools, diet, lifestyle, herbs, supplements and more.

Menopause Resources
Menopause is a stage of life that can have dramatic impacts on your health and wellbeing. As a Menopause naturopath I have written several educational blogs on areas that can cause suffering for women during this life chapter. These include the role that low Estrogen plays in increasing your risk of Chronic urinary tract infections & vaginal changes, high cholesterol, heart health, diabetes and bone health. Sleep is another key area that needs to be supported for many women combined with day-time fatigue. Anxiety and stress are critical to address and support during Menopause, especially for those of you with busy & demanding lives. A change in dietary strategies is recommended and I always provide support on strategic menopausal eating to my clients. I hope the blogs in this section offer some support. A Naturopathic consultation with me can be a very helpful and nurturing as we work together to reduce symptoms that are unique to you and improve quality of life. I provide a thorough naturopathic investigation and treatment plan for managing your health during this life chapter.
